About our school programs

Johnston Partnership is proud to partner with the Johnston Community School District to support Johnston students and their families. Staff from both teams collaborate to deliver our school programs.

JUMP mentorship program

Johnston YoUth Mentoring Program, or JUMP, is a one-on-one youth mentoring program that pairs community volunteers with students from 6th-12th grade. Our committed mentors act as positive role models who help their student reach personal and academic success. Mentors listen and encourage as students work to achieve their goals. Our mission is to build positive relationships to help young people reach their full potential.

Mentors meet with students one hour per week during school hours. For many mentors and mentees, this hour is a highlight of their week! Mentors also participate in various activities throughout the school year.

JUMP makes a difference, one student at a time!

Hoping for your child to receive a mentor? JUMP requires a student, parent, and teacher agree that the student would benefit from the program. Contact the JUMP Coordinator in your building to see if JUMP mentoring is a fit for your child and to complete the JUMP student application:

Weekend food support

Did you know that many Johnston students struggle to get enough to eat when they can’t access school nutrition programs? The Dragon Power and Friday Friends programs help families who need help with weekend food support. Johnston Partnership shares food from our pantry to support this important work.

Interested in getting your students enrolled? Please contact your school office for more information. All Johnston students are eligible to receive weekend food for any length of time throughout the school year. Families with two or more students enrolled in the district have the option to receive food for each student.
